Carnivale Golf at Mossman and Palmer Sea Reef

The Carnivale Golf Tournament was hosted on Day 1 by the Mossman Golf Club last Sunday (19th May) and the second and final day hosted by Palmer Sea Reef Golf Club in Port Douglas the following day on Monday 20th May.

This well established Carnivale event was contested by all teams in the fun Carnivale spirit with the winning team winning 2 nights accommodation and 2 days golf at Palmer Coolum Resort as well as entry into the 2014 Carnivale Golf Tournament.  Second place won entry into the 2014 Carnivale tournament and 2 nights accommodation at Pullman Port Douglas Sea Temple Resort & Spa over the 2014 event.

These two glorious days of golf saw 14 teams of four competing for the Carnivale title. The final results were as follows:

WINNERS - Team - Bob The Builder    Score:- 55 7/8
Team members - Jim Dormer, Brett Dury, Jenny Sorensen, Phil Holloway

RUNNERS UP - Team Dero                  Score:- 58 3/4
Team Members - Derek Hall, Shaun Lincoln, P Gibson, Christon

THIRD PLACE - Mossy Pro’s               Score:- 60 3/4

And now last weeks round up from Mossman Golf Club....

Last Tuesdays Mossman Golf Clubs Men’s Par event was won by Matty Smith with +4 on a count-back to Warren Maxwell ahead of Mal Phillips +3 on a count-back to Bill Allison.
Nearest the pins – John Cameron on 6 & 8, James Brown on 10, I. Ferguson on 13 and Brian Field on 17.

Wednesdays 9 hole Sporters was won by Sammy Brischetto with 21 points ahead of B. Lambert 20.
Nearest the pins – John Cameron on 6 & Kerri-Lynn Williams on 8.

Thursday’s Ladies Stableford event was won by Judy McCormack with 38 points ahead of Glenda Christensen 37 on a count-back to Virginia Goodall.
Nearest the pins – Trish Landy on 6, Kerri-Lynn on 8, Gayle Healey on 10, Judy on 13 and Margaret Lambourne on 17.

Friday’s event was won by Norm Lockwood  with 22 points.

Men’s Saturday stableford event attracted a great field of 60 players.  Div I was won by Keith Gard with 36 points ahead of  Art Howard 35.  Div II was won by R.Thomas with 46 points ahead of Geoff Goodwin 42.
Nearest the pins – James Doolah on 6, Broz Jurie on 8, P. Welsh on 10, Ian Steley on 13 and Brett Jurie on 17.

Saturday’s Ladies stableford event was won by Cathy Campbell with 38 points ahead of Glenda Christensen 35 and Trish Landy 34.
Nearest the pins – Trish on 8, Shona Barbour on 10, Leonie Phillips on 13 and Jenny Rowell on 17.
