Carnivale street closures
Port Douglas Carnivale activities will result in street closures starting tomorrow (Friday) and we have the low-down on which streets will be affected.
If you trade, drive, work, visit or live in the Port Douglas area, then it’s important to take heed of the following advice.
Tomorrow’s street parade will see street closures start from 11am, with one lane of Wharf St and Macrossan St left open to traffic until 4pm.
From 4pm, both lanes in Wharf St and Macrossan St will be closed to public vehicles but still accessible to transfer and delivery vehicles until 6 pm.
After 6pm Cairns Regional Council, SES and Carnivale staff will monitor Wharf Street and Macrossan Street and vehicles will only be allowed to enter if traffic controllers deems it necessary.
Accommodation and transport suppliers are asked to remember to advise guests of these road closures to avoid embarrassment.
