All aboard for the longest lunch

The Port Douglas 2013 Carnivale launches this week with the Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas Longest Lunch event from 11.30am.  VIP guests and the love-to-lunchers of Port Douglas and Cairns will feast on a culinary feast designed and prepared by award winning Master chef Klaus Keller and his Sheraton team has to offer.

The three course menu will show off the best of the local produce and will perfectly complemented by a superb selection of the finest of Australian wines.

To add to the flavour of the event there is a nautical theme to reflect both Port Douglas’s marine link and the perfect lake side luncheon setting.

Actual maritime memorabilia will adorn tables and decorate the dining area, with the theme overlapping into some fashion followers themed lunch wear.

With live music and live animals… it’s going to be a lunch to remember....All aboard!!!

Throughout the Carnivale, designer fashion is a major focus.  There are so many opportunties to dress up with events such as The Chandon lunch at Zinc Bar and Grill, Silky (Oaks) Tastings Riverside, Modele 13 Fashion Show, Rio Carnivale Port Douglas Party.  And some events actually having set themes just like The Longest Lunch above with it's nautical theme, Palates of Port and Food, Wine and a Taste of Port having 'The Great Gatsby' as it's focus.

The Newsport asked a couple of designer fashion boutiques around town (Ginni's Boutique and Jungle Road) to give our readers some advice. See below for what they have to offer....
