Cairns Regional Council has pushed back the date for cessation of fluoridation of water supplies in the region.

Council resolved at its Ordinary Meeting on January 30, “that Council ceases the fluoridation of the CRC water supply by the 13 February 2013.”

However, in order to comply with conditions under the Water Fluoridation Act, which dictates 30 days’ notice is required to ensure that both the Chief Executive of the Department of Health and the public receive notice of Council's decision, that date is now 15 March.
