Cooke runs hot at Mossman

Last Tuesday's Monthly Medal sponsored by Mal and Leonie Phillips was won by Graham Cooke with 68 net, ahead of Jock O’Kane with net 70 on a count-back to Brett Deuble.
Nearest the pins were Art Howard on 6, Geoff Parmenter on 8, Peter Chisfield on 10, Wayne Soxsmith on 13 and John Cameron on 17.
The winner of Wednesday’s nine hole event was John Cameron with 24 points ahead of Tano Caltabiano.
Thursday’s Ladies Par event was won by Kerri-Lynn Williams with a square result ahead of Jane Chidgey with -1 and Helen Gabour and Gayle Healey. Nearest the pins were Lucy Giles on 8, Trish Landy on 10 and 13 and Kerri-Lynn on 17.
The winner of the Friday Frolic was Brent Smith with 18 points for 9 holes, ahead of Graham Cooke.
Saturday’s great weather conditions allowed good scoring. The winner was Alec Ford with 43 points on a count-back to Warren Maxwell and third place Antony Croser with 42 points.
Nearest the pins were John Cameron on 6 and 17, Brett Jurie on 8, Wayne Dowell on 10 and Bob Tyrrell on 13.
The Ladies winner was Christie Bouwkamp with 38 points ahead of Yvonne Addison with 37 points and Shona Barbour 36 points. Nearest the pins were Christie on 8, Shona on 10 & 17 and Trish Landy on 13.
Sunday’s Mixed Foursomes Championships attracted a field of 30 players. The Gross and Net Champions are Elijah Boon and Carly Edwards, runners-up in the gross event were John Cameron and Shona Barbour, and runners-up in the net event were John and Sally Reason.
