Doble dominates in Under 12 cricket

Playing their second home game in a row the Muddies Under 12 captain Davenport won the toss, and with the support of his team mates chose to bowl against Atherton.

After five overs Atherton found themselves in a horror situation at 6/18. Doble (3/14) and Allison (2/3) ripped through the top order with Rayner assisting with two great catches.

Even Stanaway (1) and P.Darlington (1) who volunteered to play for the opposing side couldn't stem the flow of falling wickets.

Twomey (0/0) bowled a great line and length resulting in successive maiden overs while the only runs against Curtis's name were wides (0/3).

Fortunately for Atherton the tail stood strong with a 57 run partnership before the last wicket fell at 78.

Muddies opener Edwards (2) was looking confident until the ball snuck through his defensive shot. Then came a list of players that retired undefeated including Cooper who still hasn't lost his wicket this season.

Deuble (27 off 20 balls) was finding the gaps to the boundary, Conner hitting his first run for the club and Doble ripped apart Atherton’s bowling attack smashing 27 off 13 balls including a six over square leg.

Darlington saw the final over from the non-strikers end but the team couldn't be happier with the final score or result 3/157.
