Top scores at Mossman Golf Club

The course was in great condition for last Tuesday’s Stableford event which was taken out in fine style by Brian “Boof” MacDonald with 44 points.  

Second place was Alan Harper with 43 points, third was Charlie McSween with 40 points and fourth place went to Bob Slade on a count-back. Nearest the pins were Wayne Dowell on 6, Charlie on 8, Maurie Meth on 10, Peter Santarossa on 13 and Brian on 17.

The winner of Wednesday’s nine hole event was Shona Barbour with 26 points ahead of Lucy Giles with 19 points. Nearest the pins wer Ron Smith on 6 and Smokey Dawson on 8.

Thursday’s Ladies Stableford event was won by Leonie Phillips with 44 points, second place went to Patti Graham with 36 points and Narelle Johnson with 33. Nearest the pins were Leonie on 6, Bev Cowe on 8, Jane Chidgey on 10 and Helen Gabour on 13.

Perfect weather conditions on Saturday produced more good scoring with Bob Tyrell winning with 43 points. Second place was Laurie Prosser with 41 points and third place Bill Allison with 38 points on a count-back to Alan Harper and Keith Gard.

Nearest the pins were Errol “Tree” Glynn on 6, Art Howard on 8, Charlie McSween on 10, Bill on 13 and Rick Weimar on 17.

The Ladies winner was Judy McCormack with 37 points and runner-up Katie Brims with 34 points. Nearest the pin was Judy McCormack on 17.

The Miallo State School Charity Day was postponed on Sunday, and a small field competed in the Stableford event.  Maurie Meth won with 37 points, second place went to Christie Bouwkamp with 35 points, in third place was Shona Barbour with 34 points and forth place Jeff Murray with 32 points on a count-back.

Nearest the pins were Christie on 8, Shona on 10 and Dennis Blake on 17.

Mossman Golf Club invites players to a Charity Day Ambrose event for Miallo State School on Sunday 25th November. Unfortunately this event was postponed (from 21st October), and we greatly appreciate the support from the community for these Charity Days which are open to all players, not only members.
