Men’s Results

It was all doubles for social bowls on Saturday with each team playing two games adding variety to a great afternoon.

The winners of the day were T Pisot and Zilly with +5, A Christie and G Bolton with +18 and the big winners were B Hando and Doug Pitt with a +31.

In a hard fought battle on Sunday B Wolland won the Handicap singles by a single point against R Ashford after a whopping 38 ends. Congratulations Bernie!

Next Saturday will be Jackpot social bowls as usual with registrations due by midday for a 1pm start. A reminder that a men’s committee meeting is scheduled for 5pm on Monday 8 October.

The Super Challenge bus to Cairns leaves the club at 4pm on Friday afternoon.

Ladies Results

Two games of Championship triples were played with Maree Crees, Bev Zillfleisch and Maria Mijo (24) defeating Robyn Petrus, Jean Marsh and Sonia Edwards (sub) (7).

Janice Brlyack, Greta Kessler and Carmen Bolton (sub) (35) defeated Sylvia Patterson, Barbara May and June Holdcroft (sub) (14).

Social bowls was won by Maureen Tucker and Dot Kosi (+22) and Judy Maxwell won the raffle.

This week’s games are Maree Crees, Bev Zillfleisch and Maria Mijo verses Jan Gard, Carole Maxted and Judy Maxwell. Greta Kessler, Margaret Cooper and Janice Brlyack verses Maureen Tucker, Estelle O’Rourke and Greta Burke.

Next week (Thursday 11 October) is the meeting day and President’s Day as well.
