Johnson haul hands Blue win

Day 2 and United resumed the day at 1/11 after 8 overs. The conditions were perfect for an afternoon of cricket and Muddies Blue were ready to get stuck in.

But, just before play, Muddies' wicket keeper had pulled the pin on the team leaving Michael Armour to step up to the plate and put the gloves on, leaving the Muddies with just nine men.

Armour ended up taking two fine catches behind the stumps to leave United at 3/26 off 20 overs. The Muddies were great in the field and took all of their chances.

Simon Cody took two catches in the gully, and United were unable to find the gap and score runs which led to the build up of pressure and wickets falling in quick concession.

Adam Lucas bowled brilliantly and finished with figures of 3 for 24 off 16 overs with 6 maidens but it was "Dangerous Dave Johnson" who stole the show with 6 for 20 off 18 overs and 9 maidens.

Dave was also on hat trick which got the boys all excited about the chance but it was well defended in the end.

United were all out for 47 chasing 150 for first innings points.

Man of the match was Dave Johnson picking up 3 points and Keith Taylor picking up 2 points and J Dolan 1 point. Next game is against Tully at Fuller Park.
