Mossman Mill crushes target

Mackay Sugar's Mossman Mill has again exceeded its target during the previous week of crushing with 29,610.36 tonnes crushed at a rate of 294.9 tonnes per hour.

This compares favourably against the budget for the week of 28,670 tonnes. For the season the mill has crushed 217,983 tonnes against a budget of 256,056 tonnes.

In other Mackay Sugar-owned mills at Farleigh, Marian and Racecourse, 253,899 tonnes of cane was crushed this past week.  Farleigh Mill had a decent run that was marred by a significant outage resulting from a boiler equipment issue.

The Marian mill was stopped for over seven hours due to low quality cane causing a significant choke in the cane splitter. Racecourse had a good run throughout the week with a maintenance stop included.
