The Viewpoint - Top 5 worst songs ever

Music is a funny beast. Some songs can bring such joy and raw emotion that they'll almost become a reflection of who you are.

The following five songs do not fall into that category.

1. Unchained Melody - The Righteous Brothers.

Lists of this nature are notoriously hard to complete, but no matter how many times I reflect, this song continuously rises to the top of my most hated songs of all time.

2. Walking On Sunshine - Katrina and the Waves

This band has earned a living off the royalties of this song which reached Number 4 in Australia in 1985. This fact makes me hate the song even more.

3. Come on Eileen - Dexys Midnight Runners

Where ever Eileen is I wish she'd bloody hurry up and get there as we've been hearing Dexys Midnight Runners bang this one out for nearly 30 years.

4. My Sharona - The Knack

Could very well have listed higher in the list. This song simply refuses to die.

5. Khe Sahn - Cold Chisel

This Aussie 'classic' is a favourite amongst karaoke fans. Having grown up in a small town in central Victoria, declaring this song a shocker at the time would have sealed my death sentence.

Unlucky not to make the list include:

Summer of '69 - Bryan Adams
Wind Beneath My Wings - Bette Midler
Brown Eyed Girl - Van Morrison (not Van's fault, but he should've made it harder to play so crap cover bands couldn't churn out their version).
The Bus Stop - Dunno who wrote this but I now avoid weddings like the plague.
Anything Country and/or Western.

Do you agree with the list? What songs would feature in your most hated of all time?
