With grand final spots on the line, the mighty Port Douglas Crocs were keen to put in a fine performance against the Central Bulldogs on a sunny Sunday morning at Crathern Park.
Well the fire brigade were called in the first quarter as Kalan ”Ricciuto” Poole was on fire and inspired his team mates with Angus ”Alessio” Van Rouyan rebounding well out of defence linking up well with the dashing Daniel ”Frank Curcio” Harrington and the improved Coldy ”Sav Rocca” Taylor.
Fill in player Brodie ”Len Incigneri” played a solid game and stood tall at crucial times with some outstanding pack marks and long forward kicks.
Up forward the two mosquito fleet players in Ethan ”Silvagni” Scott and young Luke “Koutoufides" were giving plenty of headaches to the Bulldogs' backline.
Inspired by the Olympic gymnastics, Dalton “Camporeale” Wall kicked goal of the year with a half pike forward roll which received a huge roar from the crowd which instantly lifted his team mates in
particular Kai ”Dipierdomencio” Durie, Hugo ”Allan Mertello” Ellison and Sam ”Peter Pianto” Wall who had a great game in the ruck.
Coach's awards went to Colby, Kai, Daniel, Brodie and Dalton.

Another action packed game this week against Centrals at Trinity. Brilliant defensive work and a goal assist by Scott Cooper was a highlight while Jamie Hudson, Casey West, Harry Walker, and Jacob Rich performed well, as did Jake Sherwell who was like a terrier after the ball.
Several points were kicked, some great marks taken and goal scorers were Dean Laurence (2) and Anthony Long (1). Hugo, Kye and Brodie from Under 8’s were invaluable and showed great skills yet again.
The team is raring to go for the final home game next Sunday. This week’s medal went to Dean Laurence and awards to Jake Sherwell, Kye Durie, Jamie Hudson and Brodie.

Port Douglas Crocs vs Hawks
Another hard fought win against the top team has seen the Crocs sneak into forth spot on the ladder and secure a finals birth - a proposition that looked very unlikely a month ago.
To the boys' credit they again stuck to the game plan and the result took care of itself, albeit in a nail biter. After leading by as much as 30 points the weary Crocs took their feet off the accelerator in the last quarter and allowed the Hawks a sniff of victory.
Thanks to some heroics from backs Ethan and Braden, the Hawks would surely have run us down. Other great performances came from rookie ruckman Scottie and first gamer Jack Dickson.
Up forward, the likes of Charlie, Mitch and Quinny kept the scoreboard ticking over, all the while being fed by Ashley Davidson who clearly set the game up for us with a dominant first half.
Davo had great support from Chaseley, Jake and Aiden who were a real handful for the Hawks' defence. Overall a great team effort and from now it’s onwards and upwards.
Final Scores: Crocs 9-6-60 def Hawks 8-4-52
Goal Kickers: Mitch 2, Ashley 2, Charlie 2, Jackson 1, Casey 1, and Quinny 1.
Best Players: Scott, Brayden, Ethan, Jake and Ashley
