Book lovers are invited to top up their collections this week at Cairns Libraries’ annual book sale. The three-day sale will be held in the Fred Moule Pavilion at the Cairns Showgrounds on August 10 to 12.

Thousands of adults’ and children’s books will be available at bargain prices.

Mayor Bob Manning said the book sale was an opportunity for people to become acquainted with reading.

“The book sale is always popular with regular readers, but it is also a great place to start your book collection,” Cr Manning said.

“As 2012 is the National Year of Reading, there is no better time to start exploring the magic of books.”

Proceeds from the annual book sale are used to purchase new books and resources for the libraries.

Doors will be open daily from 9am to 5pm and EFTPOS facilities are available.
