Overcast skies have made conditions very pleasant for visitors and members of the Mossman Golf Club.

Tuesday’s field of 51 players competed in the On the Inlet Monthly Medal which was won by Matt Smith with a nett 65.  Div I Winner was Ian Warren with nett 72 on a count-back to Leon Baker. 

Div II winner was Matt Smith and runner-up Lloyd Redpath with 71 nett. Nearest the pins – Simon Nelson, Ian Warren, Jock O’Kane, Barry Brims and Ian Johnson.

The winner of Wednesday’s nine hole event was Ray Bennetts with 24 points and runner-up Russ Watkins. Nearest the pins were Dennis Blake on 13, and Bev Cowe on 17.

Thursday’s Ladies Lucy Giles Monthly Medal was won by Fran Macri with a nett 68 and second place Lucy Giles with nett 70.  Lucy also won the putting competition. Nearest the pins were Lyn Heimann, Maxine Leigh and Lucy.

The new special Friday Frolic (9 holes golf, shared motorised buggy and 6 pack in ice to share for $30 per player) was enjoyed by plenty of social players. For players with handicaps, the competition was won by Greg Walker with 23 points for nine holes.

Saturday’s event was Stableford and Div I winner was Charlie Kadic with 40 points and second place John Deuble with 39 points.  Div II winner was Bill Allison with 41 points and second place Rick White with 39 points.

Nearest the pins were Rick White on 6, Des Whiteley on 8, Brett Jurie on 10, Russell Jeffrey on 13 and Bill Allison on 17.

The Ladies also enjoyed a Stableford event with winner Jenny Rowell having 38 points, and runner-up Kim Edwards with 37 points. Nearest the pins – N Read and Carly Edwards.

A number of visitors enjoyed the competition on Sunday, and John Cameron was victorious with 38 points. Nearest the pins were John Cameron on 6 and Art Howard on 13.
