Ever wondered what it's like to paddle one of those Outrigger Canoes that are going up and down the inlet? Well, here is your chance to do it.

Grab some friends or family, make up a team of five (minimum of two females) and come along to the Carnivale Family Beach day on Four Mile Beach this weekend (Sat 26).

Port Douglas Outrigger Canoe Club is hosting the annual 'Big Paddle Novice Event'.  If you are over 18 years of age, can swim and would like to have some fun , this is for you.

The club will supply the canoes, paddles and an experienced steered.
 
Registration starts at 8am, and racing will commence at 10am.  We ask you to paddle a short course of approximately 300 meters. Starting fee is $10 per paddler and the final winning team will take home some great prizes and the perpetual trophy.
