Russell Watkins snuck home to win last Tuesday's competition at the Mossman Golf Club, beating Jeff Murray on a count-back.

Mossman Golf Club Mens Foursomes Champion Gross winners are Peter Chrisfield and Dan Coulthard, with runners up Peter Hornsby and Dave Nesbitt.  Peter and Dave took the honours in the Nett event with runners up Ricky White and Broz Jurie.

The Ladies Foursomes Champions are, Bev Cowe and Patti Graham  who won both Gross and Nett prizes. Gross runners up Kim Edwards and Trish Landy, and Nett runners up Shirley Carney and Tricia Middel.

Forty two players enjoyed competing on Tuesday.  The winner was Russell Watkins with 39 points on a count-back to Jeff Murray. Third place was Larry Smith with 37 points on a count-back to Leon Baker.

Nearest the pins – Ralf Middel on 6, Wayne Dowell on 8, Jeff on 10, Peter Santarosa on 13 and Brett Jurie on 17.

The winner of Wednesday’s nine hole event was Lucy Giles with 20 points on a count-back to Ed Sant. Nearest the pins – Ranald Edwards on 6 and Greg Walker on 8.

Thursday’s Ladies event was a Four Ball Best Ball.  Winners are Trish Landy and Julie Hooker with 42 points, and runners up Lucy Giles and Treveen Page with 41 points on a count-back to Patti Graham and Bev Cowe.

Nearest the pins – Treveen Page on 6, Gayle Healey on 8, Julie Hooker on 10 and Patti Graham on 17.

The new special Friday Frolic (9 holes golf, shared motorised buggy and 6 pack in ice to share for $30 per player) is creating great interest for social golfers.

The Saturday Men’s Stroke event was won by Wayne Baxter with nett 67.  Second place Bill Everingham with 68 on a count-back to John Deuble.

Nearest the pins – Matty Gray on 6,  Dennis Blake 8, Keith Gard on 10, John Deuble on 13 and Russell Watkins on 17.

The Ladies Saturday winner was K Pont (Cairns visitor) with nett 70, second place Shona Barbour with 75 on a count-back to Sue Barnard and Sue Bond (both Cairns visitors up enjoying Carnivale).
