Las Douglas?

Las Douglas?

We received a large number of comments on our story asking people who the agreed with, billionaire businessman James Packer or Tourism Queensland boss Don Morris, on the best way to attract Chinese visitors to Australia.

Packer, some might say predictably, said casinos were key, and that man-made attractions drew vastly more tourists than natural attractions.

Don Morris on the other hand, some might say predictably, that Chinese visitors wanted to experience things they couldn't do at home, and that Queensland's beautiful land and seascapes would bring the crowds.

It was interesting to read your comments - some taking sides with Packer, others with Morris, while some of you thought that we simply couldn't compete with other casino destinations around the world due to a perceived lack of service.

With such interest in the issue, we thought we'd run a poll that asks straight out - Would you allow James Packer to build a billion dollar casino in Port Douglas?
