Middel beats huge field

Tuesday’s field of 34 competed for the Century 21 Monthly Medal, which was won by Joe Wild with a nett 63. Second place was Elijah Boon with nett 67 and third place with nett 69 was Bruce Cheesman on a count-back to John Cameron.
Nearest the pins Brian Fields on 6, Elijah on 8, John Cameron on 10, Charlie Kadic on 13 and Joe on 17.
Wednesday’s nine hole event saw Barry Rouse take the honours from John Deuble. Nearest the pins went to John Reason on 6 and Barry on 8.
The Lucy Giles Monthly Medal played on Thursday was won by Christie Bouwkamp with a nett 66. Second place was Lyn Heimann on nett 74, with third Kerri-Lynn Williams on a count-back from Trish Landy.
Trish won the putting competition on a count-back to Julie Hooker and nearest the pins were Kerri on 6, Christie on 8 and 10, and Patti Graham on 13.
Saturdays Barrier Reef Tavern Monthly Medal had a great field of 53 players. The winner was Ralf Middel on a nett 67, while second place went to Wayne Baxter on a count-back to Ben Hill.
A Grade gross winner was J.Walker (visitor), B Grade gross winner was John Petherbridge and C Grade gross winner was Ben Hill.
A Grade nett winner was Dennis Blake, B Grade's was James Doolan and C Grade's was Vic Dowler. Nearest the pins were Bernie Boon on 6, Brett Jurie on 8, J Hill (visitor) on 10, James Doolan on 13 and John Petherbridge on 17.

The Combined Clubs Ladies Monthly Medal was won by Christie Bouwkamp on nett 69, with runner up Shona Barbour on nett 71. Nearest the pins were Trish Middel on 6, Jenny Rowell on 8, Tracey Benham on 10 and Shona on 13. Shona also won the putting competition.
Easter Sunday was another great day with Art Howard taking the stableford event with 40 points, second was B Wood on 36 points. Nearest the pins were Kerri-Lynn Williams on 6 and Ian Steley on 13.
Mossman Golf course is now back to a full course, with visitors and members enjoying the great weather.
The Club invites Ladies (of any age) to come along and learn to play golf. The next clinic will be held on 16 April, so anyone can book on 4098 2089.
