Junior Sharks wrap
UNDER 7
On the weekend the Under 7 Sharkies played a hard match against Ivanhoes at home. There was some fierce tackling by David Neller, Dakota Santarossa and Wyatt Lourigan and some great runs by Fletcher Macdonald that lead to four tries scored by Mossman.
Try scorers on the day were David Neller (2), Jack Hatfield and Wyatt Lourigan. Although these little Sharkies went down on the scoreboard (4 tries to 6), the whole team tried their best, had fun and are improving with each week that goes by.
UNDER 8
The Under 8s had another fantastic game with a 20-0 win against Ivanhoes on Saturday. Great defence from the boys kept Ivanhoes scoreless and team work and offloads saw Tyson Osborne (2) Kye Durie (2) and Zacheriah Paulke score.
Man of the match went to Zacheriah for outstanding all round football and the Coaches Award went to Kye for great attacking.

UNDER 11
Under 11 Man of the Match performances by Zeklyn Grogan-Ryan, who had the opposition looking for him every time they ran the ball with some front on defence, Lachlan Buzza, who topped the tackle count with an outstanding display of no fear tackling and Tom Walker, who took the ball up in heavy traffic the whole game.
The game turned into a really good defensive game of league from both sides but the local boys turned over too much ball in attacking positions to maintain any pressure which gave Ivanhoes a 20-10 win.
With so many new players it was a great effort in hot conditions.
UNDER 12
The Under 12 Sharks went down to a well drilled Ivanhoes side 20-0 despite some impressive play from some of the boys. Callum Mather was firing in defence and Tom, Zac and Lennox tackled fiercely.
Austin Tayley earned the Man of the Match For a great improvement.
UNDER 14/15
The U14/15 combined team took on a strong Ivanhoe’s outfit in very hot conditions at the Showgrounds last Saturday which saw the visitors walk away with a hard fought 24-16 point victory.
After training strongly for several weeks the boys were very keen for a game and with a new game plan in place the Sharks felt well prepared going into the match.
However, the first 15 minutes of the match Ivanhoe’s exposed some lazy defence and helped themselves to two tries, jumping to a 12 point lead and putting the Sharks on the back foot straight away.
Lack of game time so far this season was showing and the Sharks were looking very rusty, continually dropping the ball and seemingly no communication between them throwing away any opportunity they had at getting some points on the board.
Dwar Creek came off the bench 10 minutes before halftime and added some much needed spark to the struggling Sharks putting on some great tackles and showing the forwards how to run the ball.
Ivanhoe’s made the most of every opportunity and at halftime the score was 20-0.
The second half saw the Sharks put in a much better effort in defence and managed to contain the opposition to only one try.
Levi, Jack and Quinlan gave their all and were outstanding defenders all game. Curtis Hober and Jaggar Ablett charged into the Hoes, making valuable metres off every run.
Jake Todd scored once and Quinlan scored twice and the team showed great character to finish the in a positive manner.
Matthew Gladman earned himself the man of match for a great effort in a tough game.
