Port Douglas AFL Crocs Presidents Report
By Andy Smith
Another week has come and gone. Last weekend we had a chance (in the wet) to have a good look at most of our 2012 players in the pre season cup at Cazalys.
Good signs for 2012 in what was one of the toughest pre season hitouts I have witnessed.
All new recruits showed they will fit in well at the crocpit and Mitch, Brad, Joel Lawlor and co. continued on their good form from last year. With 5 or 6 players still to arrive there is a good vibe in the air.
This weekend we play a practice match against Centrals at Cazalys 1pm. Hopefully you can get along to watch.
Sunday is our 200 Club luncheon at The Ramada Resort with numbers looking very strong and a good indication of our year ahead.
On Thursday the 29th we will be having our jumper presentation at the club. It will be a special night with all ex- croc players invited to present the jumpers. $8.00 meals and should be a 'ripper' of a night.
On a very tragic note the Port Douglas Junior and Senior Football Clubs are in shock today at the sad passing of a very talented and much loved player in Graeme Elliott.
He will always be remembered for his amazing football skills and his contribution to our football club over the last 12 years. On behalf of the entire club I extend his parents Gary and Karen all our thoughts, sympathy and support through this terrible time.
