Recently, Cook MP Jason O'Brien expressed concern for Mossman's economic future and declared the town would become a major focus of his new term in office if, of course, he is re-elected.

If he is looking for a place to start he need look no further than the signage to Mossman Gorge which attracts around 500,000 visitors annually.

Tired, faded, and patchy, the signs would do little to make the passerby turn off if they had never heard of the place (granted there are few).

A local businessman even reported seeing bullet holes in one Mossman Gorge sign.

The Mossman Gorge is one of the most beautiful attractions in the region, and even the State. It deserves better.
