Court date set in Manns case
The two individuals charged with offences relating to an incident which left local man Matthew Manns with a broken jaw will appear in court on 22 February.
One of the pair in their late teens, neither of whom can be named until they appear in the public arena at the Magistrates Court in Mossman, has been charged with unlawful assault while the other has been charged with grievous bodily harm.
Grevious bodily harm is classified as a serious offence, meaning the magistrate will conduct a committal hearing to decide whether there is sufficient evidence for the case to go before a judge and jury at the District Court in Cairns.
Meanwhile, 65 Queenslanders have sign the 'Keep Port Safe' petition while many others have left messages seeking to support the installation of security cameras in strategically placed "hot spots" in the Port Douglas town centre.
