Guts defines Raiders' season
Under 10s
The Under 10’s second last Union game for the year was fantastic. Brothers turned up to play but could not break the junior Raiders' defence line.
All boys put in 100% effort this week and outstanding tries were made by Joshua Cranswick, Caleb Ross, BJ Davis, Jared Tesch and Joe Tusa and capped off by Dereck Letcher with a great conversion.
Final score for 2011’s last game was 27-5 to the underfeated Under 10 Raiders.
Boys pat yourselves on the back, well done.
Under 12s
The Under 12 Raiders took on first place Bulls for the second time in two weeks at home on Friday evening. Despite the game being played for no points (both teams having drawn a bye) it was, again, a very physical encounter.
Killer Cole Watson showed no fear of the bigger opposition and was heavily involved all night. Both teams battled hard in the rucks trying to dominate, but it was out wide where the breaks were made.
Zac Osborne gave great service to his backline and Dean McCarthy was finding a few gaps.
Unfortunately the Raiders couldn’t finish off the good work scoring only one try for the game. Barron showed why they are a top team running four tries to take out a hard fought game, that was played with great sportsmanship.
Tom Allen and Charlee MacDonald had brilliant games while Kalani Tusa and Aaron Dunwell worked hard all night. Hard hitting Ayesha Seaton suffered a nasty knock in a crunching tackle and was taken to hospital but later was given the all clear.
The Raiders won the respect of their opposition for their tough but fair style of play.
WELL DONE TEAM!
