Port goes running mad
Port Douglas has gone running mad ahead of this Saturday's Great Barrier Reef Marathon Festival.
In the most recent event, the Cairns Roadrunners Active Health Clubs Northern Beaches Race, 11 Port Douglas locals headed down the highway to compete in the 10km and 4km runs.
In a strong field there were many stellar performances including a personal best by Nick Carling who came first in his age group, as did Karen Thorp in the 4km event.
The 10km was seen as a warm up to this weekend's Steve Moneghetti Invitation Half Marathon where 300 people are expected to enter this race alone.
