Camp builds more than skills

Some of the region's up and coming young cricketers have received coaching from two of Australia's finest players at recent coaching camps in Tolga.

Around 70 kids were put through their paces by Jimmy Maher and Michael Kasprowicz at the three and four camps which were aimed at skill development and involved a number of "scratch matches".

A handful of Junior Muddies players took part in the camps including Keel and Raine Sorrensen, Ryan Doble, Tom Goodall (who captained a team on the last day), Bryce Fabiani and Levi Trewick.

Muddies vice president Steven Doble said the camps taught participants more than just good technique.

"The event ran smoothly and the kids' manners, appreciation, team work, sportsmanship and enjoyment was absolutely first rate. It was amazing to see their energy from day one to day four."
