The men of many talents

Rasmussen Contracting have been operating in the Douglas region from Julatten to Mossman to Port Douglas to the Mowbray Valley for the past 40 years.

They have been cutting cane on their own farm as well as being contracted harvesters for many other local farms for many years.  Their expertise is helping local farmers in a proven cost effective way using eco-friendly farming methods.

In addition to their cane harvesting services, they now offer a wide range of expertise and services including slashing and mowing, rotary hoeing, discing and ripping, boom, interow and quad bike,  chemical spraying and backhoe and tip truck hire.

Doug Rasmussen is a third generation farmer and his farming practices expertise in maximising  yields with minimal impact on the environment was recently recognised when he received the accolade of the inaugural Mossman Region Sugarcane Grower of the Year.  This guarantees that any contract is completed in the same way with the least environmental impact possible.

Doug and his two sons, Justin and Rodney together with their skilled work force have invested heavily over recent years to establish the contracting side of the business.

They fully utilise the extensive variety of equipment available to ensure the local region has full access to a relevant and cost effective schedule of agricultural services.

And, although they are capable of major projects they don't consider any job too small.  They are ever mindful of the importance of each job to their contractors.

Rasmussen Contracting are fully equipped with a comprehensive agricultural plant and machinery fleet covering all the services they offer.

The services are offered on an hourly rate.  And with an experienced, expert pricing system, each job can be costed and budgeted ensuring timing and
planning is easy and affordable.
