Chrisfield on fire in Mossman golf

Peter Chrisfield leads the charge in the men’s Championship after two brilliant rounds of 73 and 70 to be six clear of Elijah Boon after rounds of 75 and 74. Dan Coulthard followed up a shaky start with a 71 on the second day to be two shots further back.
Jock O’Kane has a four shot lead in B Grade to Brett Deuble after O’Kane shot followed up with a brilliant round of 76 on the second day. Broz Jurie’s consistency has him leading C Grade by six shots to Alec Ford. Broz Jurie also narrowly leads the overall nett at the half way stage to a handful of players.
In the ladies Championship there’s no surprise that Gennai Goodwin leads by a huge margin after rounds of 79 and 75. Trevene Page is in outright second with rounds of 89 and 85.
Pris Freeman has a three shot lead in Division Two to Lyn Heimann and Bette Wells while Leonnie Phillips leads Division Three by five shots to Trish Cavanagh.
Trevene Page leads the overall nett for the ladies after two brilliant rounds of 68 and 64 to be eight shots clear of nearest rival Lyn Heimann.
Earlier last week Rus Watkins won the Tuesday Men’s monthly medal with nett 68 after a count back to George Page and Laurie Prosser. Nearest the pins were Rob Cooke on 6 and 10, Prosser on 8, Watkins on 13 and Ed Body on 17.
Thirty-nine players contested the Wednesday sporters competition which was won by Jeff Bochow with 23 points after count backs to Tony Hirst and Greg Walker. Kerri Williams won nearest the pin on 6 and Peter Titus-Rees won 8.
The Thursday ladies were also in top form with Helen Gabour leading the way with 40 points to win after a count back to Kate Brims. Trevene Page finished third with 39 points. Glenda Christensen won nearest the pin on 6, Kate Brims on 8 and Shona Barbour on 13.
