It has been another big week in Mossman Bowls with the running of the District Challenge Shield event.

Ladies Bowls

Congratulations to the Mossman Ladies Team 1 for winning the 2nd District Challenge Shield. The winning team was Glenise Sharp, Clair Holloway, Carmen Bolton and Joan Day (skip).

They were presented with their badges by Eileen Stevens from Mareeba and were all smiles. Meanwhile, Mossman Ladies Team 2 came a creditable fourth place.

Social bowls were played in the afternoon with Maureen Tucker and Barbara May the winners. The raffle winner was Kaye Dean.

Championship Triples will be played on Thursday.

Men's Bowls

Social bowls was played on Saturday and winner with a big margin of +28 (and the meat trays) were Al Cooper, Colt Dwyer and Dennis Johnson. Runners up were Peter Parson, Peter Cleary and John Standish with +20.

The Pairs Championship game resulted in Tesch and Day beating the ‘M&M’ team of Misson and McLean. It must be noted that the red M&M was outplayed by the brown one!

Championship games for this weekend: B grade singles – G Bolton vs J Hocking. Handicap game is G Wilmot vs D Misson.
