Dragons charged into opposition territory
The U11 Dragons charged down the highway to Endeavour Park on Saturday. All players were keen to impress with plenty of power and passion all over the park.
Player of the Match Wini Heatley was all over the midfield in every position!
Petree Miller was spectacular! Che, Curtis, Harrison and Mitch almost scored after a number of well constructed raids into opposition territory. Somehow the other team escaped to victory...
The Under 9 Douglas Dragons played Leichardt 4 in Cairns this week giving another good account of themselves. In hot windy conditions the boys managed to play some decent football passing the ball around nicely and putting Leichardt under pressure.
Two nicely worked goals from Jack Jenkins and Jack Carr saw the boys cruise into a 2-0 lead at the break. The second half saw Leichardt attack more with the Dragons relying on Connor Berzinski to put in a solid defensive performance.
The Dragons stepped up a gear and a nice shot by Connor White round the back of the net putting the Dragons 3-0 up. Two more goals by Jack Jenkins in the last five minutes and it was all over with the Dragons winning 5-0. Player of the match went to Connor Berzinski for his excellent defending.
