Port Douglas singer-songwriter Omid Master released his new album 'Forgotten about Today' on 10 December after an exciting year of live performances.

And it's busy times ahead for Master who will be doing three shows in Sydney with some of Australia’s best musicians this month.

The band includes Lochlan Doley who worked with Powderfinger on their Sunset tour, and the rest of the group also play with acts like Jessica Mauboy and Shannon Noll. 

The shows include Velvet underground at the Civic Hotel in Sydney where he will be shooting his video clip for the single “When I close my eyes” and two all ages lunch time concerts.

Recorded in Cairns and produced in Brisbane, 'Forgotten about Today' is described as "sustaining a luminous mood, the album creates a journey, part road movie, part seasonal reverie, its side-winding guitar breaks and infectious melodies making Forgotten about Today the ideal soundtrack for the summer." 

The album, according to Master, marks a return to rock rhythms after a period in which he experimented with acoustics.

“I wanted to get back to my origins, which so as it happens has less to do with traditional roots per se and more to do with a sound which captures the epic moment,” he says.

“I like music that takes you on a journey and creates a feeling for the moment even while the same moment is slipping away as if in slow motion.

“I think summer has a spirit many Australian identify with,” he says. “In summer, there’s a sense of adventure where people are willing to risk something in order to better themselves.”
