In what comes as no surprise to many late night passengers to and from Cairns, Tiger Airways continues to languish in its performance in terms of on time departures and arrivals.


According to Travel Today, one in four Tiger flights were late during August (72.6%), but this figure constituted a slight improvement on July.


Tiger will take any positive news it can as this is just the second time this year that the low-cost carrier didn't record a "month-on-month decline."


Qantas held its position as the most punctual domestic carrier with 86%, while Virgin Blue had the dubious honour of recording the most cancellations with 169 flights being cancelled in August.
