Port fun run sure to inspire

Inspire Fitness has again taken the lead in getting people off their bums, and into their sneakers with their Port Douglas Fun Run on this weekend.

Participants can choose between a 5km or 10km run which will kick off at Rex Smeal Park on Saturday, 25 September, beating the heat with a 7am start.

Event organiser, Sarah McConnell said the event is becoming a favourite for locals who want to get fit and healthy.

"This is the third fun run we've held and we're seeing an increase in numbers each time. Our last run in June attracted around 50 runners, and we'd like to see that number grow again on Saturday."

So give yourself an excuse to be able to kick back on Saturday afternoon with a beer and sausage (sorry, I mean a Powerade and salad roll) and watch Collingwood romp home in the AFL Grand Final.

Entry to the Port Douglas Fun Run costs $10 with all money going to breast cancer research, and registrations open at 6.45am on Saturday.
