Junior Netball Grand Final results

The Junior Netball finals started with the T-Birds playing the Dolphins, and it was the T-birds played great netball with player's choice awarded to Cartier Bennett and best and fairest going to Lana Baxter.
The Dolphins played a great final game for the year with Player's choice Charlotte Dowling teaming well with best and fairest, Hannah Durie. Final score saw the T-Birds cruise home, 7 goals to 1.
The Crocs played MnM's, with MnM's playing a spirited game of netball. Sophie O'Gorman-Petrack was named player's choice and Jasmine Kirk best and fairest.
The Crocs put in a great effort for 4 quarters and it was Aleesha Viola who was name player's choice. Savaanah Scott shot well for goal and final scores were MnM's 8 defeating the Crocs 1.
The Under 12-16s Grand Final was between the Red Team and the Blue Team and it was the Reds who came out firing from the first whistle. They were relentless throughout the game as Lauren Radcliffe shot brillantly for goal and Hazuki Kirby being named player's choice.
The Blue Team put in a great effort against the inform Reds. Liana Pellegrinet was named player's choice and Angela Pringle best and fairest. Final scores were Red 14 defeating. Blue 2.
The Green and Black team fought for third and fourth position and in this final the Black Team were great all over the court shooting 6 goals to 5 in the first third.
They continued to dominate the game, but the Green Team determined not to let them get away with an easy win overtaking the scoring in the 2nd 3rd. But the Black Team were not to be outdone coming out victors on the night. Final score Black 10 defeating Green 7.
The Under 12s Grand Final saw the Saints play the Dragons. This was a very exciting final with lots of supporters there to cheer the girls on. The Saints started with 4 goals to 3 in the first quarter, and by half time the Dragons were still 1 goal down.
The Saints, with fantastic play by Marley Cairns in goal attack, kept on coming keeping the Dragons under pressure. The Dragons were not giving up without a fight and kept up with the Saints by all but 1 goal through the game.
The final quarter saw the Saints shoot 3 to 2 with them coming away with the win 9 goals to 7. Players choice for the Saints was Yasmine Stievano and best and fairest was Mia Ferrero, while for the Dragons Katie Gibson and Liana Pellegrinet were given the honours.
Thanks to the coaches Cassandra Hill (Saints) and to Kirsty McLeod (Dragons), it was a great final to watch with all the players having a great time.
The Junior Presentation will be held at Plantation Resort on Saturday the 16th October at 3pm. The Junior Netball Planning meeting will be held this Thursday the 16th September at 5pm at the Port Douglas Courts.
