Last call for Paradise Birdman
Time is running out for Davvyd Brown, or the Paradise Birdman as the thousands of tourists who have had his famous Cockatoo's sit on their shoulders know him.
Davvyd risks losing his house and is faced with a move to the Gold Coast if he can't find the support he needs from local businesses to help him pay a crippling debt with an interest rate of 13%.
"Banks aren't willing to refinance the loan to a comparable rate of around 8% like everyone else is paying," Davvyd said.
Davvyd thanked Meridien Marina's and The Court House Hotel for their ongoing support, but Jason Anderson from The Courty said it's a win-win situation.
"He's brilliant for us. We get a lot of goodwill from our customers and all of the kids and adults just love him and his birds.
"Davvyd's a really likeable and knowledgeable person and we think what he does is a great attraction for the local area."
The Paradise Birdman is also a Cruise Ship Ambassador and disembarking passengers literally flock to see him and get a photo with his birds.
"Only three people in the world do what I do," Davvyd said. "There's one in Thailand, one in Hawaii, and me."
Davvyd's sees his service as a great opportunity for local businesses, particularly hotels and restaurants. "For only $30 I spend an hour taking photos of the customers and I email them their copies free of charge."
So, if you're a business owner looking for an opportunity to attract more customers give the Paradise Birdman a call on 0427 484 436.
