Since the publication of the latest Port Douglas Magazine back at the beginning of July, the entries for the Magazine Awards have been streaming in thick and fast. 

The votes are coming in via email, by post and even holidaymakers are popping them in at our Grant Street Office to make sure their favourites are recorded.  It is interesting to note, from the entries received so far, just how many establishments are really getting behind the spirit of the awards. 

These awards were designed to encourage tour operators, retailers, restaurants and accommodation houses to incentivise their hard-working staff and their products and tours to be the best they can, so that the holidaymakers (and locals) who enjoy their experience, will take the time to vote for the best of the best.

We've had over 250 entries so far and several establishments have advised us that they are collecting entries from their guests and customers and will be dropping them in shortly. 

At this stage, of course, there is no way to tell who are the front runners but what we can see is quite a few individual operators are giving it their best shot.

Our advice to all the businesses around town is get your guests and customers voting, whether they be holidaymakers or locals, it's the only way you can win the award.

Voting slips have been published in the July edition of Port Douglas Magazine on pages 10 and 11 and we have also circulated nearly 5,000 additional voting forms to keep on your reception or store counters.  If you need new supplies or you got somehow missed off our distribution just give us a call and we'll get some out to you or by all means please collect from our office in Grant Street anytime.

In association with Port Douglas Catering and Events, we are planning a Presentation Awards Evening at the Sugar Wharf on Wednesday 10th November where all the winners will be announced and trophies awarded! 

Naturally everyone is invited to celebrate these inaugural awards but tickets will be limited.

Notice to Businesses : Please ensure you drop your voting slips into our Grant St office as soon as you collect them from your guest so we can include them in the final count.
