Road tours on Cape York feature strongly in an exciting new 'Great Tropical Drive' brochure now available to tourists.

"The brochure showcases 14 self-drive routes between Townsville and Cape York, and has been designed to attract self-drive tourists to our region," Cook MP Jason O'Brien said.

"It is an excellent introduction to the attractions of the region and is part of a Queensland Government push to support the local tourism industry.

"I am aware that more people are coming here as grey nomads or to go on self-drive tours, and the brochure will help the industry shine a new light on what we have to offer."

The brochure features the Cooktown-Laura, Daintree-Douglas and Cairns-Tablelands regions and provides advice on routes, accommodation, and the different types of experiences available.

The 'Great Tropical Drive' brochure is an initiative of Townsville Enterprise and Tourism Tropical North Queensland. It complements the Great Tropical Drive website.
