The Miss Carnivale competition is heating up with all the gorgeous entrants running around town organising their charity events and fundraising activities to see who will win the coveted crown as Miss Carnivale 2010.

In fact Miss Carnivale entrant, Samantha 'Sam' Robertson, who is being sponsored by Radio Port Douglas, is the first candidate to contact us to tell us all about her yacht Club bash. She has organised a fundraiser and all day music session on 27th April from 3pm 'til late at the Port Douglas yacht Club.

Entry will be by gold coin donation and the charity benefiting from the event will the Breast Cancer Appeal. Great prizes to be won on the day include Reef trips, dinner vouchers, Massage and Beauty Treatments, resort packages and much much more. Sam is supported by Port Douglas Radio where she is a DJ on the Coco loco evening show.

Sam sent through a personal note which she asked us to publish to put forward her credentials for Miss Carnivale as follows - "I am approaching 19 in April and have resided in Port Douglas along with my mum for nearly 8 years arriving from the Island of the Long White Cloud known as New Zealand.

I am currently employed at Hog’s Breath Café and have been there for 3 years.
The charity that I am raising funds for is the Breast Cancer Foundation. This particular charity is close to my heart as my own mum has survived this.

I am holding an Auction to be held on 27th April at the Port Douglas Yacht club, the donations/merchandise that Port Douglas businesses have kindly donated to me, will be Auctioned off on the day, with all proceeds going to the charity.
