Mr Cullen added, “We have increased the content presence of Newsport our daily online news service which has enhanced the interest to the site from a brand new audience of potential holidaymakers and we have published the  PORT DOUGLAS, free quarterly full colour visitors magazine designed to  continue our brand strength by helping the post arrival visitors.”

The Newsport Daily online service now has over 4,000 subscribers.  In  addition to the website activity tourismportdouglas has a signed up social media network via facebook, twitter and buzz of nearly 5,000 followers.

The combination of all this global promotional activity has consolidated as the premier consumer information website but MD Sam Cullen is quick to add that the organisation keeps very close to the local Douglas region market, working with all the tourist related businesses to ensure our visitors understand why Port Douglas is considered to be the ‘Jewel of the Pacific Rim’.
