The Port Douglas Rydges Sabaya is launching a fortnightly series of ‘Poker Nites’ in association with the National Poker League (NPL) on Thursday April 1st.  The host venue will be the Rydges super-comfy ballroom set up with playing tables and bar area situated in the heart of the Resort. 

From the launch, Poker Nite will be held fortnightly on a Thursday starting at 6.30pm. There will be stacks of prizes for every session including a Sydney trip in January to Star City near Darling Harbour for the overall season winner.

Drinks cards throughout the evening will give players a chance to win extra chips and a place at the final table each evening, (Ed Note: so even losers like me could come back in and take the pot).

Naturally there will be snacks and drinks on arrival and the bar and restaurant will be open as usual throughout the evening.

F&B Manager Simon Angove told Newsport "This is just the start of a series of themed activities that Rydges will be putting on for both the locals and the visiting holidaymakers.  We have such great facilities here that it's time to showcase them to everyone".
