Newsport goes mobile

Today The Newsport Daily sends its first e-news out via mobile to its 500 website subscribers.

Since July the Newsport has offered subscribers the opportunity to submit their mobile phone number as a new medium to receive updates from the Local News Service.

Editor, Roy Weavers although new to the technological advances of online news says it is obvious that this type of medium is either received as part of a novelty or people just like being informed via their Mobile or PDA's for conversation starters or ice breakers. I'm not sure really but the amount of subscribers entering mobile numbers must be a sign of the times.

The Newsport Daily can offer any number of updates per week as the News is updated daily. If you are receiving The Newsport but have not properly submitted your details or mobile number and would like this FREE service go online and subscribe.
