Malone’s Butchery under new leadership

BUSINESS FEATURE

Malone’s Butchery is sharpening their knives to give them a more competitive edge in the wholesale market with new leadership changing up the butchery business.

Owner Todd Malone said he is thrilled to announce a new leadership team at the helm of the locally loved butchers with the appointment of new Operations Manager Greig Rodgers alongside Business Development Manager Andrea Moore.

“We have brought in a new highly skilled individual in the butchery industry in Greig, to bring a new aspect into the shop.

“Greig teamed with Andrea are set to give a fresh injection to the way the business is conducted as we re-establish the butchery as the trusted name in the wholesale market,” he said.

Hailing from New Zealand Greig Rodgers has been around the chopping block since the age of 15 cultivating a wealth of knowledge and leadership that will be vital to Malone’s ongoing success.

“From linking sausages and smoking meats in gourmet shops, to boning beef and curing bacon in supermarkets. I have had a taste of it all,” Greig said.

“I am ready to take Malones Butchery to the next level and to provide Port Douglas with a wide range of my tasty meal creations, making dinner time a whole lot easier.”

His reputation for personalised old-fashioned service while delivering top-notch products has been noted in some of the best butcher shops all over Australia.

Andrea Moore, a Port Douglas local for over 18-years, lives and breathes the community knowing firsthand just how unique it is to be a business in paradise.

Energised by the revitalised direction of the butchery, she has an exciting vision for Malone’s, saying “I want to spend more time investing in what the chefs and restaurants need to better service them.”

“Pricing decisions are not easy to make in the current competitive meat industry, but we will continue to provide superior quality products using Australia’s best supplier and brands. We are passionate about value, quality produce and reliable personalised service. That is what Malone’s retail and restaurant customers will receive and we are grateful for their ongoing local support,” Andrea said.

Andrea along with Greig and his team of knife-wielding, meat-loving cutters – have rehauled the way they communicate with trade customers and have better systems in place to ensure unparalleled quality and service to restaurants and chefs in the Shire.

Andrea prides the company’s keen ability to communicate to stakeholders. They are in constant contact with suppliers and chefs to ensure they exceed the customers’ needs. This close connection to the customer’s needs allows Malone’s to remain nimble, able to adapt and respond to any requirements.

For a small company they have a large capability to accommodate trade customers.

There are so many wonderful restaurants and cafes with passionate chefs who want to use quality meats – Malone’s is making it easy to do so while keeping it local.

There is no other wholesaler in the district servicing here that Malone’s cannot compete with on price, personalised service and on top of that they give back to the community – by employing locals and giving back to local organisations. Something they generously did before COVID forced multiple closures and they aspire to get back to that point, but to do so they need the support of local businesses keeping it local.

“We’d like to thank the locals for supporting us in our trade over the last six months, it hasn’t been easy, you got us through this,” Andrea said.

The team at Malone’s is extremely grateful for their loyal customers, family, friends and employees for their support, and want to ensure to their retail customers that they will always remain a dedicated butcher shop offering excellent quality meats at fair prices to the vibrant community.

Malone’s knows that it isn’t always easy for some people to come in to pick up quality meats – as a gesture to give back to customers they offer home delivery if you are unable to make it to the store - believing everyone should have access to tender and flavoursome cuts of meat.

Malone’s looks forward to serving your retail needs and restaurant establishments and will do their best to earn your trust and add you to their family of loyal customers. Feel free to call or drop by anytime with your questions, Greig and Andrea will be happy to help.
