Students from Mossman State School have been busy collecting much needed items to send to children in developing countries all over the world just in time for Christmas.

The students have been collecting items all year to put into boxes that will be donated to children who never receive gifts at Christmas as part of the Samaritan's Purse Christmas Child Operation. 

Mossman State School have been involved in this program for multiple years and this year will send 110 boxes, the largest amount yet.

Each box includes something to wear, something to love, something for school, something to play with and something for personal hygiene. 

Under the leadership of Mossman teacher, Pam Leonardi, the students participating in the program have been learning valuable skills in being active citizens and valuable members of the local community as well as making decisions about what needs to be included and what items should be left out.

The students also had a great time participating and are keen to continue in future years with young Mossman student Torah saying, "I had so much fun shopping for the things with my Mum".
