Cast your votes for love where you live photo comp winner
COMPETITION
Over the past six weeks, local shutterbugs and photography enthusiasts have been encouraged to show off their skills in an innovative social media campaign designed to showcase the natural beauty of the Port Douglas and Daintree region.
The ‘Love Where You Live’ campaign, run by Tourism Port Douglas Daintree (TPDD), has been calling locals of all photography skills to submit their favourite images while out and about adventuring and exploring.
From glorious sunsets and stunning mountaintop views, drone images of the Great Barrier Reef and breathtaking moments in nature, the competition was themed each week with winners from each category, judged by Douglas Shire Council, TPDD and local photographer Alison George of Catseye Productions, announced each Friday.
Photographer and judge Alison George said there were a lot of talented people in the area who entered “who do obviously love where they live”.
“The gratitude for our fabulous lifestyle has been documented creatively and beautifully by everyone who entered the competition. Well done,” she said.
Now, the grand final winner is up to you!
Images from the last six weeks will be posted on the Visit Port Douglas Daintree Facebook page, with the overall winner being decided by popular vote.
TPDD are encouraging all locals to head to the Facebook page to cast their vote for their favourite image.
The winner will receive a super deluxe prize including two nights’ accommodation at Mandalay Luxury Apartments, a seafood platter and dessert tasting plate for two with Magic Mouthfuls Catering & Events, a sunset sail for 2 adults on Shaolin and a half day reef experience with Ocean Safari for 2 adults valued at $1,378.
