PHOTO GALLERY
A new gallery run by a collection of Far North Queensland Artists has opened on Macrossan Street.
Art in Transit is the artists’ collective behind the gallery concept, spearheaded by visual artist Chrissie Mclaughlin.
The collection of paintings, photography, sculptures, silks, jewellery and pottery have been carefully curated in the space showcasing each artist, with the artists themselves running the gallery, giving locals and visitors to the region an opportunity to interact with the artist and their works.
The 18 exhibiting artists include Tania Heben, Che, Rod Sherlock, Jeffrey Whitehill, Danielle Piat, Laini Eckardt, Gabrielle Cooney, Jill Booth, Chrissie Mclaughlin, Michelle Murray, Ang Constable, Robert Cornelissen, Jillian Zamora, Kate Hunter, Janet Mackay, Perrin Clarke, Alison George and Cara Stevens.
The opening was attended by artists and art lovers to welcome to the space into the community.
