Mareeba attack: Two charged with grievous bodily harm

Two men are each facing serious charges after an attack in Mareeba last week where a man has been left in critical condition.


A 23-year-old Hillcrest man and a 26-year-old Beenleigh have been charged with the man’s attack on 10 July.

The victim, a 35-year-old man from Ayr, remains in the Townsville Hospital in a critical condition.

Around midnight last Wednesday night, following an altercation, a man was allegedly assaulted and located unconscious at the rodeo grounds on Mareeba Dimbulah Road.

Anyone who was in the area on the night is urged to contact police, if they have not already done so.
