Lots on offer at fundraising cricket match
ACCOR HOTELS COMMUNITY FUND CRICKET MATCH
From humble beginnings seven years ago at Reynolds Park, the annual Accor Hotels Community Fund cricket match has now become a major fundraiser and crowd-pleaser at the Port Douglas Sporting Complex.
With the first match at 11am on Sunday, four teams will play out over 15 overs per innings amid the opportunity to bid on auction items, win prizes which includes a 10-minute scenic flight over Port courtesy of Nautilus Aviation.
Rian Cope, co-ordinator of the cricket festival and Front Office Manager at Mantra PortSea, said there will be a highlight for kids who attend the match.
“At lunchtime there will be a helicopter landing on the field where lollies will be handed to the children. This will definitely add to the day’s festivities,” he said.
Overseas holidays, a music festival experience, signed sports memorabilia, and SCUBA lessons are just some of the items up for grabs in the Accor Community Fund Australia TNQ Online Auction.
There is $14,000 worth of prizes and items in the online silent auction, which is open for bids until 3.00pm on Sunday 7 July. The money raised will feed into the Accor Hotels Community Fund.
The fund supports a combination of five charities: AIME, Garvan Institute, Kokoda Youth Foundation, Lifeline, and the Australian Childhood Foundation.
Bidders have the chance to win an incredible three-night stay at Accor’s flagship hotel Ala Moana Hotel by Mantra in Hawaii.
The prize includes a one-bedroom Ocean View Suite with buffet breakfast for two people, $50 Starbucks gift card, complimentary self-parking for one vehicle and complimentary Wi-Fi.
There is also a holiday package to Bali including flights and five-star accommodation at Peppers Seminyak including breakfast for up to three adults and two children.
