Mossman Yoga Studio welcomes beginners to their new program
BUSINESS FEATURE
Opened in November 2018, Mossman Yoga Studio is the only purpose built yoga studio in Mossman, offering a clean, air-conditioned environment with all yoga mats and props provided.
Mossman Yoga Studio Owner Robyn Jarram has twenty years’ experience practising yoga, including a diploma in yoga teacher training from the International Yoga Teachers Association and a certificate III and IV in Fitness from the Australian Institute of Fitness.
Ms Jarram said she opened the studio to give the community a beautiful space to practise and explore a range of different yoga traditions and other related health and well-being modalities.
“Classes are designed for all ages and levels whether a complete yoga novice or a seasoned yoga practitioner.
“At the moment we offer a range of different yoga classes from Hatha Yoga to Rest and Restore Yoga and Flow Yoga.
“The support from the community has been overwhelming and we hope to welcome more teachers to the studio and to offer more classes and workshops to our community” Ms Jarram said.
She added that anyone is welcome to come along to classes at any time but if you feel you need a specific introduction into yoga, then come along to one of the Beginner’s Programs that run throughout the year.
“The next Beginner’s Program starts on 6 August and it’s an eight-week program that teaches the basics of yoga.
“The feedback I’ve been getting about this program has been phenomenal and I’m really proud to see many of the beginners now attending our normal timetabled yoga classes.”
Ms Jarram said that regular practise of yoga can be hugely beneficial to the body and canincrease range of motion in joints, improve flexibility, posture, coordination, circulation, and concentration, along with all over body relaxation.
“You don't need to be physically flexible to practice yoga, all you need is a body and a willing heart.
“For me, practising yoga helps me manage chronic physical pain and the anxiety that comes with it.
“Yoga is a combination of physical postures, breathing, and mindfulness which helps me reach a state of peacefulness that I’ve not been able to obtain in other practises.
“I believe that yoga is one of many pathways to peace. As a yoga teacher, I am privileged to be able to share the 6000 year old practice of yoga with our community and to guide people to find peace within themselves and I think that it’s good for our community, to be peaceful,” she said.
