Mossman man caught traveling at extreme speed

A Mossman man’s excuse for driving more than 50km/h over the speed limit was he was in a hurry to get home.

The man was intercepted by police between Port Douglas and Mossman early yesterday morning. 

Police clocked the man’s Holden ute travelling at 155km/h in a 100km/h limit zone on the Captain Cook Highway.

The 31-year-old male driver was subsequently fined $1218 and the lost of eight demerit points.
