Woman swept away in floodwaters

POLICE will prepare a report for the coroner after a woman died at a popular swimming spot in Far North Queensland overnight.
Officers were called to Josephine Falls near Innisfail following reports that a tourist had been swept downstream in floodwaters.
A police spokesperson said emergency services had located her body at around 7.25pm last night, but due to the deteriorating weather recovery efforts would start this morning.
The woman had been swimming with a group before the tragedy occurred. The region has has experienced heavy rainfall and thunderstorms over the last week.
Police remained at the scene overnight.
