Battle-hardened Cutters to face Crocs
AFL CAIRNS
The Crocs brushed aside the Cutters by 46-points in round seven and will start a heavy favourite to keep their unbeaten AFL Cairns season intact, but won’t have it all their own way tomorrow.
South Cairns had a tough 22-point loss to Centrals Trinity Beach last week and should be battle-hardened for the clash in Port Douglas. The Crocs have won their past three matches by a combined margin of 505 points and will welcome the challenge to face a fierce rival.
Their dominance this year has been reflected in having nine representatives in the initial North Queensland squad for the representative clash against South Queensland next month.
The match will be played as a curtain raiser to the Western Bulldogs and Gold Coast SUNS clash at Cazalys Stadium on July 22.
Captain Kye Chapple, Pete Bury, Mitch Bohm, Wes Glass, Jonathan Hobbs, Declan Kelly, Ethan McCullough, Mathew Medcraft and Dylan Wearmouth have all been selected in the state squad, which will be coached by Crocs mentor Brad Cooper.
